Foutris started as a painter in fine arts developing a keen interest in new media appropriation and application to traditional media, like methods of contemporary digital image and data processing. He integrates the visual language from different cultural areas, like gothic and heavy metal pop culture, using multimedia installation and performances. His work plays with the communicative layer of traditional notions of art and contemporary, customized visual language.
