In this work I used aluminium foil which I folded it several times and then I unfolded and burned it, so I was able to write a small text.
I put this piece in a black frame so it looks more like a monumental/formal sign that makes this testimony more visible.
The text I took it from the internet. I surfed through a lot of news websites, search engines, etc.
I finally decided to put this paragraph from different articles and news about ‘Ten most polluted places’.
Also I made a music CD playing in the gallery with a compilation of 10 songs having in the title the word ‘pollution’, dedicated to each of the cities.
An estimated 12 million people were affected by the severe pollution, which was mainly caused by chemical, metal and mining industries.
Chronic illness and premature deaths were listed as possible side-effects.
It is possible that hanging and suffocation is more easily available than other methods.
There has been more focus on pollution in the media, but there has been little action in terms of new funding or programmes. We all need to take further action.
